Thank you for your interest in Fanatic Marketing. I truly appreciate the opportunity to serve you, and I realize that three things must exist before you'll consider doing business with us... Know, Like & Trust. With this in mind, I'll share some of my background in hopes it will help you get to know us a little better.

I started working in a dealership in 1997 behind the Parts counter. Coincidentally, I had began reading a book by Brian Tracy titled The Psychology of Selling. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was beginning my journey towards the equivalent of a Doctorate in Selling. Just a few weeks later, I was moving to the Sales Department. Since then, I've held virtually every position in a dealership.

In 2004, my business partner and I started a training company named Dealership University, which provided training courses on Sales, F&I, Service, & Marketing to dealers via eLearning. Of course, we were a bit ahead of our time, with many dealers still using dial-up internet and having computers that didn't have a sound card. Haha.

However, our marketing courses must have been good because clients began asking if we would fulfill their marketing. In 2008, we changed the name of our company to Powersports Marketing, and became a marketing company primarily for Powersports, Marine & RV dealers. After facilitating double-digit growth for 16 years, my business partner and I sold PSM Marketing to a private equity group in 2021.

Why focus on the Automotive Industry?

I've loved car dealerships ever since I can remember. My dad was a service writer for Potamkin Cadillac and every once in a while I'd get to go to work with him, which created great childhood memories. Occasionally, he'd get to drive a Cadillac home and take us for a drive. We felt like rockstars. Today, I'm the quintessential "car guy" and I drag race a first-generation Camaro (pics below). I'm also a Datsun enthusiast, owning several Z cars over the years. From the business side, I've studied the automotive industry for over 2 decades, and I've helped quite a few dealers along the way making this the natural next step of my journey.

My vision for Fanatic Marketing is to make a difference in people's lives by bridging Sales & Marketing for your dealership. I call this creating a 'Selling System'. The system by itself is good, but what creates passion in a team is knowing that you're impacting people's lives. In his book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey's fourth habit is 'Think Win-Win'. This means to seek mutual benefit in all human interaction.

I appreciate that our impact starts with benefiting your customers. We shorten their buying cycle and cause them to happily own a better vehicle sooner than they would have otherwise. Of course, every lead we generate creates more success for your Sales team. Every vehicle we help you sell generates a renewed customer for your Service department. Ultimately, everybody in the dealership benefits, which creates a Win-Win that includes my team here at Fanatic Marketing.
